Language and theme are set in two different places. That is the most common reason one of them cannot be found.
Interface language
Choose the language of the interface under Account → Preferences (/account/preferences), in the Language & localization section. It applies to menus, buttons, and system text.
This is separate from the feed languages in the same section. The filter decides which stories you see; the interface language decides which language the app speaks to you in.
Theme
Light, dark, and system live in the user menu, not in the account area:
- Click your profile picture in the top right.
- Select Theme.
- Choose Light, Dark, or System.
System follows your operating system and switches with it. Your choice belongs to your account and carries across every device you sign in on.
