Set up Signals

Five steps that take Signals from empty to useful: follow companies, name the relationship, set importance, add your sites, set the rules.

Signals starts empty. It fills as soon as it knows which companies matter to you and why.

1. Follow the companies you care about

Open a company profile and choose Follow. Following is what puts a company in range: it is checked more often, and its events reach your inbox.

2. Say what each company is to you

Set a relationship on the company, for example Supplier, Customer, or Competitor. This decides which of their signals reach you, and it puts their locations on your map.

3. Set importance for the ones that matter most

In the company drawer, set Importance to your organisation, from Low importance up to Critical supplier. Importance is the vertical axis of the risk matrix, so it decides what rises to the top of your to-do list.

4. Add your own sites

Under Account → Sites, add the plants, warehouses, and offices you operate from, each with a radius. Signals near them are flagged, and every signal then shows its distance to your nearest site.

5. Set the watchlist rules

Open Watchlist rules from the Signals workspace and choose which perspective alerts, from which priority upwards, and in which categories. The rules apply to everyone in your organization.

Give it a little time

New companies are checked on a schedule rather than instantly. If a company shows nothing yet, the coverage line on its profile says when it was last checked, and Refresh asks for a check now.
